Besides providing financial support to the work of both societies, membership in the Clinton County Genealogical Society or the Clinton County Historical Society confers certain benefits such as newsletter subscriptions and reduced rates for programs, publications and gift shop purchases.

Clinton County Genealogical Society

Membership in the Clinton County Genealogical Society is $10.

A chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society, the CCGS was officially chartered in 1989.

The Clinton Chronicle

    A quarterly newsletter published January, April, July and October, The Clinton Chronicle lists upcoming meetings, reports of past meetings, upcoming regional events of genealogical interest, new books received for the genealogy library, surname queries, and articles of local genealogical interest. An index of all Chronicles is available for researching past issues.

    Members may submit queries free of charge. If you join during the year, you will receive all past issues of The Clinton Chronicle for that year.

CCGS meetings

    Regular CCGS meetings are 7:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of each month, except December, at the Clinton County Historical Society, 149 E. Locust St., Wilmington, Ohio.

    Each session includes a topic of interest to society members. Meeting topics have included research at Wilmington College library, restoring old books and an update on the Clinton County Records Center.

Clinton County Historical Society

The Clinton County Historical Society was officially incorporated in 1948 and has occupied its museum home, Rombach Place, since 1955.

Annual dues are $20 for individual, $30 for family or $100 for patron memberships. Membership includes a subscription to the "Rombach Place Recorder" and free admission to the museum.

Rombach Place Recorder

    Published four times a year, the CCHS newsletter includes lists of recent museum acquisitions and advance notice of upcoming CCHS programs and publications.
